Wake Up to Who You Really Are

I spent a long time trying to be everything that I was not. Honestly, it was years. I was trying to be extroverted when I knew I was more introverted. I was trying to be assertive when I knew I was more compassionate and more apt to listen. I was trying to be more emotional when I knew that I was more logical. I was simply trying to be what I thought would bring me the life that I wanted.

What this did was bring a lot of extra thinking to my mind. Day in and day out I found myself "working on myself" and always trying to "improve" myself. Whether it be a book or an audio, I was always doing something. This brought a perpetual hamster on a wheel so to speak feeling. Always moving and never getting anywhere.

After I woke up to the Three Principles I found that I was exactly who I was supposed to be. There was nobody else to be but myself. And I know that line sounds cliche as it has been used many times but stop and think about it for a minute. The only person you can be in this world...is you. And who we really are is who we are before thought. Who we are before our contaminated thinking. Who we are before we focus on the content of our thinking instead of remembering that "we are the thinker".

Who are you? You are a person with perfect psychological wellbeing. You have everything you need. You have common sense, insights, and gut instincts that will guide you through life. You are loving, compassionate, and present when you are not stuck in your thinking. Waking up to who we really are is a way to point us to the fact that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. When I began to deeply understand this I realized I didn't need fixing and I didn't need to change (although getting out of my head was something that I could do more of).

There is nothing wrong with you. You are not broken. Albeit for your thinking, you have perfect mental wellbeing. You don't need fixing and you don't need a major overhaul. Just remember your experience is coming from your thinking, not your circumstances and you'll come back to the present moment and you will remember who you really are. Now, it's time to wake up.

Until next time,
